It’s normal to feel overwhelmed or worried about a loved one with dementia, but we want you to know — you don’t have to face it alone. At Cypress Village, our diligent staff are trained to specifically care for those with challenges from Alzheimer’s and dementia, in a way that makes them feel comfortable, cared for and safe.
We also provide opportunities for them to make friends, get back into their hobbies, and participate in activities and events that can help prevent cognitive decline.
We are honored that you’re entrusting your loved one to our care here at Cypress Village, and we take the responsibility seriously, treating each resident with respect and dignity.
Deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, Clare Bridge, our alzheimer’s and dementia care, focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging and purpose while preserving identity and a sense of self.
Care sustained by meaningful relationships
Person-centered partnerships and listening to our residents are the foundation of our Clare Bridge program.
As part of our commitment to relationship-rich care, we strive to consistently assign the same associates to each resident. In our care model, we build relationships based on trust, loving concern and a strong sense of family between our residents and care partners.
Working in close partnership with families, we help our residents live connected lives by nurturing strong relationships. With education workshops and support groups, we care for the whole family, not just our residents.
Nurturing strengths with purpose and confidence
In Clare Bridge we have discovered that while offering a traditional calendar of activities is important for residents, it’s not enough to support effective dementia care. That’s why we supplement activity calendars with our Clare Bridge daily path. Its gentle structure of six planned programs helps residents maintain their abilities and encourages the use of their current skills. This daily routine promotes a sense of security for the residents that they are right where they need to be.
We also create personalized, engaging environments to encourage residents to spontaneously join in normal daily tasks. Our Clare Bridge communities feature areas for safe gardening, kitchen work, repair work and other pursuits that lead to meaningful successful moments.
To nurture our residents’ strengths, we offer our specialized Clare Bridge dining program with dementia-friendly menus that include selections that are familiar and easy to manage. Our dining program also includes personalized dining assistance in smaller dining rooms where residents sit in the same seat to create consistency for each meal.
Sharing expertise and adapting with innovation
Our Clare Bridge program is backed by more than 30 years of dementia care experience and expertise. We use findings from the most current dementia research to adapt care innovations and better serve our residents. Whether it’s better flooring choices or how we approach behavioral expressions, our Clare Bridge program uses an evidence-based approach to continue to evolve and build on new ideas for state-of-the-art care.
We have experience caring for thousands of people living with dementia and for their families. Today, Brookdale is a leading provider of alzheimer’s and dementia care in the United States.
