Interesting Fact Cypress Village

One of the first residents to live at Galleria Woods more than 25 year ago, was Ida V. Moffett. She served for 65 plus years as a nurse in the Baptist Health Systems. In 1988 Samford University built a new building for its Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing. Having presided over the graduation and licensing of more than 4,000 nurses, and having led the major healthcare professional organizations of the state of Alabama, she made an indelible mark on an industry. She often jokes that Baptist healthcare built Galleria Woods for her. Ida is a member of the Alabama Women’s Hall of Fame. The desk she used during her 65-year career resides in the Galleria Woods Library as a reminder to her life and career.
